Next title: Only Zidane can do this
Zinedine Zidane magically attracts success. Quite a few people consider it to be the light figure par excellence of football. His collection of titles underlines this thesis. While for many footballers winning a major international title is a dream forever, for Zinedine Zidane this is almost part of everyday life. In the 1998 World Cup finals, he steered the game into the right direction with two goals, and in the final of the Champions League 2002, he became match winner with a dream goal. As a trainer, too: What Zidane does turns into gold. Real Madrid have not only won the Champions League twice since taking office as a complete rookie, but have also defended the title as the first team to do so, and the same law applies to the Supercup. When Zidane is in the final, it’s all about the height of victory. After Seville, Manchester United were the “Zidane victims” this year. This is shown in the graphic by iM Football, which does not include the individual awards of the Frenchman: Three times world footballer (1998,2000,2003), one time European footballer of the year and multiple appointments to several dream teams of all existing tournaments are only examples of the 40 titles.
