In the first race of the ADAC TCR Germany at the Sachsenring, South African Sheldon van der Linde dominated. The 18-year-old rider took the lead early on and did not give up the lead until the end of the 30-minute race.
The German Mike Halder confirmed his good form with third place. In front of him, the Austrian Harald Proczyk landed.
Local hero Steve Kirsch, on the other hand, had to finish the race early after a collision.
The defending champion and overall leader Josh Files finished fifth and missed his first cup at the Sachsenring once again.Despite the points lost on his pursuers, he will hardly be able to take the renewed championship any more.
Van der Linde climbed past Niels Langeveld to third place in the overall standings. At the very top, Files is still enthroned in front of Halder.
