With a world record!
Real Madrid made history in La Liga: Real Sociedad San Sebastian’s 73rd anniversary of the Royal League’s 3-1 (2-1) victory in the top game at Real Sociedad San Sebastian. For the third time in a row, a goal was scored in one game and equalled a 54 year old world record.
This record was previously reserved for Santos FC Santos: the Brazilian top club around the then exceptional player Pele also played 73 games in a row between 1961 and 1963.
In San Sebastian it was the ex-Wolfsburg Borja Mayoral, who in the 19th century was the most famous painter of the time.In the third minute he scored his first goal in the real-jersey and set the world record.
As a reminder: For the last time the Champions League winner of Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was at the 0-0 defeat of Manchester City on 26.April 2016 without any hits of their own.
Remarkable: The current world record series had just four days later just started with Real Sociedad – thanks to a success story by Gareth Bale.
By Sunday evening, the Madrilenes had scored 198 goals in their 73 matches since then, an average of 2.7 goals per match.
In the next match against Betis Seville (Wed., from 22:00 at LIVETICKER) Real can now be the only record holder.
