Bavaria’s opponent Anderlecht dismisses Weiler
The RSC Anderlecht reacts after a mixed start to the season with the separation of coach Rene Weiler.An Argentinean takes over as an interim solution.
The Swiss René Weiler has been dismissed as coach of the Belgian record holder RSC Anderlecht.
The 44-year-old had won the championship with the RSC in May, but currently the defending champion is only in ninth place in the standings.In the Champions League, the team from a suburb of Brussels had lost 0:3 to Bayern Munich at the start.
Weiler had the 1st place from November 2014 to June 2016.FC Nürnberg, before he had moved to Belgium despite an existing contract.With Anderlecht, he not only took the 34th place.The team also made it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and, most recently, to the group stage of the Champions League.
“The club thanks René Weiler for his dedication, performance and professionalism,”the club said.As an interim solution, the Argentinean Nicolas Frutos as well as the Swiss David Sesa and Thomas Binggeli, who were previously part of the extended staff, will take over the management of the team.
