Bamberg’s Moscow curse continues
There is still nothing for Brose Bamberg in Moscow. Against Chimki, the next chase in the EuroLeague is missing – despite a break.
The German champion Brose Bamberg has to wait in the EuroLeague for his first victory in Moscow.
At the Russian runners-up Chimki, Bamberger lost 73:82 (40:42) and failed to catch up with Valencia Basket or FC Barcelona.
Chimki’s top scorer Alexej Schwed in particular caused problems for coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team. Guests who went into the match rested after a week’s break due to the national match window could only equalise the second quarter in front of 5351 spectators in the Mytishtschi Arena.
The best thrower of the Bamberg team was Ricky Hickman with 21 points, Schwed scored 26 points. After the fifth defeat in the tenth game, Bamberg is now trailing the playoff ranks (DATA CENTER: The Table).
The best eight out of 16 teams will be in the next round. Bamberg had not yet won either ZSKA or Chimki in the EuroLeague.
