Polar bears pelt against Panther – Ingolstadt wins
The polar bears Berlin miss the jump to second place in the DEL. Winner Augsburg dreams of the pre-playoffs again. Ingolstadt wins a job.
DEL-record champion Eisbären Berlin missed the jump to second place in the German Ice Hockey League.
In front of 10,329 spectators in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Augsburg, the capitals lost 2:3 (0:0,1:1,1:2) to the Augsburg Panthers and remain in third place with 89 points. In the direct duel for the other playoff places, the ERC Ingolstadt won against the Iserlohn Roosters 3:2 (1:0,1:2,1:0) .
“Augsburg played a good game and deservedly won in the end. We just didn’t get our performance today and we weren’t there at all,”said polar bear striker Marcel Noebels at Telekom Sport.
Augsburg, for whom Jaroslav Hafenrichter (54th) scored the winning goal, can look forward to further hopes for the pre-playoffs with his away win. The Bavarian Swabians passed the Duesseldorf EC and are now eleventh with 63 points (DATENCENTER: The Table).
The backlog to the tenth and last pre-playoff place occupied by Adler Mannheim is four points for the remaining four games in the main round.
John Laliberte (54) scored the decisive goal for Ingolstadt. The Schanzer moved past Schwenningen to eighth place with 70 points. Iserlohn (71) remains seventh and is level on points with the sixth Wolfsburg.
