Trainer legend Olsen ends his career
Dane Morten Olsen never wants to be a coach again. The 68-year-old was responsible for the Danish national team for 15 years – and also played in the Bundesliga.
Morten Olsen, a long-standing Danish national coach, puts an end to his coaching career:”I’m 68, I’ll never be a coach again. The former world-class Libero had looked after “Danish Dynamite” from 2000 to 2015. The Scandinavian also worked for Bröndby IF and Ajax Amsterdam. Recently there had been rumours that Olsen will take over the Belgian record holder RSC Anderlecht, as he himself lives near Brussels.
“24 hours and 7 days in this job, that’s what I’ve been doing for so many years. That’s over. I’m retired now – and I’m sure I’ll soon be going to Cologne for a private Bundesliga match,”emphasized Olsen.
Olsen’s successor as Danish coach is the Norwegian Age Hareide (64), who led the Danes through the play-offs against Ireland to the World Cup in Russia.
