Di Maria settles accounts with former club Real
Before reuniting with Real Madrid in the Champions League, PSG star Angel Di Maria settles accounts with his ex-club. He would even switch to his arch-rival.
Offensive star Angel Di Maria of Paris Saint-Germain has settled accounts with his former club before the Champions League round of 16 against Real Madrid (Wednesday, from 8.45 pm in the LIVETICKER).
“I haven’t had a relationship with Real since I left Madrid,”Di Maria told the French magazine So Foot.
The Argentinean had played for the royalties from 2010 to 2014, before he was sold for 75 million euros to record English champion Manchester United at the behest of club boss Florentino Perez.
That’s why he would also have “no problem” with hiring one day from the arch-rival of Real -“Quite the opposite. I was about to switch to FC Barcelona in the summer,”Di Maria reported.
His reluctance to Real is primarily due to a letter he received on the day of the 2014 World Cup final against Germany. In it, the club asked him not to play in order not to risk his health and thus his move to Manchester.
“I was hurt and I couldn’t have played anyway, but the letter made me angry. I tore him apart,”he betrayed.
That’s why Di Maria, who joined PSG in 2015, is highly motivated to play against the Madrilenians,”I don’t need any additional motivation. I want to help defeat them and win the Champions League,”the 29-year-old announced.
