Witthöft sweeps away Fed Cup heroine

Tennis player Carina Witthöft clearly won the German duel with Fed Cup player Tatjana Maria at the WTA tournament in Doha.
The 22-year-old from Hamburg, number 52 in the world, won against the five places worse ranked Maria in 62 minutes with 6:3,6:0.
In the second round of the $3.173 million tournament in Qatar, Witthöft will face the world’s number one Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark), who had a walk-through at the start.
On Tuesday afternoon Julia Görges, number ten in the ranking, will play her first-round match against Czech Lucie Safarova.
Former number one Angelique Kerber will enter the tournament on Wednesday in the second round, while the opponent of the ninth place in the world ranking from Kiel is former US Open winner Samantha Stosur from Australia.
On Monday, Mona Barthel had failed at her opening hurdle.
