Ronaldo scores 100 goals with “Volleyball Penalty”!
Cristiano Ronaldo reaches another milestone for Real Madrid. Just as unusual as his best mark is the fact that the hit came about.
Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made history for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Royal Superstar scored his 100th birthday in the first leg of the last 16 against Paris Saint-Germain. A goal for Real in the top division. The 33-year-old is the first player ever to reach this mark for a single club.
Ronaldo scored his jubilee goal shortly before the break with a penalty kick, after Giovani Lo Celso Toni Kroos had previously brought down with a grip on his shoulder.
The execution of the penalty kick was just as unusual as the record mark, because Ronaldo stepped so energetically into the lawn with his left leg that the ground was slightly displaced and the ball was already slightly off the ground.
“This was actually a volley shot, which is very rare at the penalty kick,”Lothar Matthäus said at Sky.
Ronaldo needed 95 games for his 100 goals. Arch rival Lionel Messi will soon be able to reach this mark for FC Barcelona. The Argentinean superstar is currently standing for Barca at 97 goals.
