In the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, Paris Saint-Germain beats arch-rivals Olympique Marseille thanks to a gala performance by Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria.
Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain is once again in the semi-finals of the Coupe de Monde – without her injured superstar Neymar.
After a bumpy start, the capital’s Olympics defeated Marseille after a clear increase in performance at half time two with 3:0 (read more about the game in the TICKER).
While the German replacement keeper Kevin Trapp was allowed to keep the goal again in the cup, Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria showed their class in the field.
Draxler played the 1:0 with his whistle for the Argentinean and at the 3:0, the ex-Schalker headed an input perfectly into the race of Edinson Cavani, who only had to push it in.
Meanwhile, Neymar was not missed, as replacement Di Maria strung up a double pack when he arrived in the 48th minute. In the second minute for the interim 2:0.
The crowning glory of his strong performance, on the other hand, was avoided by Draxler: In the 61st minute of the season, he was able to win the race. After a cross from Marco Verratti’s side, the German international crossed the air in the ninth minute, but Marseille’s scoreline barely missed the goal.
