Ex-Leverkusener takes over Sparta
Pavel Hapal is the new coach of Czech club Sparta Praha. In the 90s he played in the Bundesliga.
Pavel Hapal, the former German soccer professional from Leverkusen, is the new coach of Czech first division club Sparta Prague.
The twelve-time Czech champion announced on his home page on Tuesday that the 48-year-old will succeed Andrea Stramaccioni from Italy with immediate effect.
Hapal had most recently been in charge of Slovakia’s U21 selection. The former Czech national player played 86 Bundesliga games (13 goals) for Leverkusen. Sparta Prague is currently only fifth in the standings.
