Drogba announces early career end
Didier Drogba is on the home stretch of his successful career. Now the 40-year-old striker announces when he will end.
Didier Drogba has announced that he will end his career this year.”I am now 40. It’s time to stop,”the striker told French TV station Telefoot.
Drogba is currently playing for Phoenix Rising FC in the United States United Soccer League. His contract ends in November 2018, then it should be finally concluded.
“I’m surrounded by a lot of young players. I am happy to share my knowledge with them. However, this will be my last season,”Drogba explained.
The former Ivorian international began his professional career in 1998. He has worked for Olympique Marseille, Shanghai Shenhua, Galatasaray and Montreal Impact, among others.
The 40-year-old celebrated his greatest success with FC Chelsea: In 2012, he beat FC Bayern Munich with the Blues in the final.
