Kerber finishes Garcia off

Germany’s tennis star Angelique Kerber once again proved her strong form at the WTA tournament in Indian Wells, California.
The former world number one from Kiel won her last 16 on Wednesday against seventh seed Caroline Garcia from France in a rush of 1:03 hours 6:1,6:1 and will face Darja Kassatkina (Russia/No. 20) in the round of the best eight.
Against Garcia, the tenth seeded Kerber prevailed above all in the second set, when she did not play a service game and only needed 30 minutes to win the match. Meanwhile, their next opponent Kassatkina had defeated Australian Open winner Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark/No. 2)6:4,7:5.
The two-time Grand Slam winner Kerber continues to reach for her second win of the season after her victory over Garcia. She had already triumphed in Sydney at the beginning of the year. She reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open and the WTA tournament in Dubai.
