West Ham fan explains tower with corner flag
During the Premiere League match between West Ham United and FC Burley, there are storms of fans. Now one of the supporters takes the floor.
The Premier League match between West Ham United and FC Burnley last Saturday was overshadowed by chaotic scenes. A West Ham supporter even stormed onto the square with the corner flag in his hand.
According to MailOnline, this was the 61-year-old tour operator Paul Colborne, who turned himself in to the police after the incident.
“I didn’t plan anything, I just felt I had to do something. You have to stand up for what you believe in,”he said,” now MailOnline. Colborne, who has been pursuing West Ham in the stadium for 49 years, regrets his sudden reaction.
The 61-year-old had run from his seat onto the field and rammed the corner flag into the ground, while the players could only watch in amazement. Hundreds of “Hammers”supporters also made it to the grandstand and called club bosses David Sullivan and David Gold names.
After their move to London’s Olympic Stadium in 2016, they had promised them successful football and a Champions League participation.
However, the 3-0 defeat against Burnley was the third consecutive defeat. West Ham are currently in 16th place in the Premiere League and are far from Champions League ambitions.
