Raul takes over as trainer at Real
Real legend Raul takes over the coaching position at the B-Youth of the Royal League in summer. The 40-year-old was supposed to join the management team.
Former world star Raul apparently wants to start his coaching career after all.
The 40-year-old will be the B-youth coach of Spanish record champion Real Madrid from summer onwards. The previous coach Alvaro Benito takes over the A-youth of the club. This was reported by the Spanish sports newspaper Marca.
Raul, from 1994 to 2010 one of the most successful goal scorers of the Royal League and subsequently still two years active for the Bundesliga team Schalke 04, has been working for some time as assistant to manager Jose Angel Sanchez for Real.
At first it looked as if the three-time Champions League winner (1998, 2000, 2002) would be promoted to the management of Spain’s top club. But now the 102-times national player Spain has decided to work as a coach.
