Rockets win the overtime thriller – Horntes ensure record victory
The Houston Rockets won’t defeat the Detroit Pistons until overtime. The Charlotte Hornets manage a record victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Overtime thriller at Houston Rocktes vs. Detroit Pistons. It looks like a long time after a surprising defeat for the Rockets. Until once again superstar James Harden turns up the heat and makes clear the narrow 100:96 victory for the Rockets.
The leaders of the Western Conference did not find their way into the game against the Pistons for a long time. Harden was also unable to retrieve his performance. Without the injured Chris Paul, not much was going on.

After Detroit managed to catch up 9 points about four and a half minutes before the end, both teams still had the chance to win in the final seconds. But nobody hit and it went into overtime. And suddenly Harden woke up and made ten of his 21 points in overtime. After the match he said: “We didn’t get started offensively, but sometimes that’s the case” (NBA schedule and results).
The Charlotte Hornets also provided a surprise. With the highest victory in 20 years they finished the Memphis Grzzlies with 140:79.
With a 61-point difference, they achieved the sixth highest victory in NBA history. Kemba Walker alone scored 46 points.
