Stielike becomes third German coach in China
After his retirement as South Korea’s national coach, Ulli Stielike finds a new job. The former DFB assistant becomes the third German coach in China’s elite league. Former international Ulli Stielike (62) is the new coach of China’s super league club Tianjin Teda, the third German coach in China’s top division, and also includes Felix Magath (Shandong Luneng) and Roger Schmidt (Beijing Guoan), formerly assisted by Erich Ribbeck, then head of the German national team. After moderate results, he had to leave the World Cup semi-finalists of 2002 in mid-June. Tiajin is placed in the Super League standings. The most notable player in Stielikes new team is former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel (30) from Nigeria.
