Embarrassing Twitter affair pursues Durant
After his disparaging tweets and posts with a second account about the Thunder, Warriors mega star Kevin Durant apologizes in a low voice:”Was an idiot”.
Kevin Durant apologized for his embarrassing and disparaging tweets about the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Golden State Warriors superstar had answered a fan on Twitter on Sunday, explaining his reasons for leaving OKC.
Among other things, Durant had written of himself in the third person that he did not like the management, did not want to play under coach Billy Donovan and that the squad was “not really good”at all.
“I was a total idiot.I use Twitter to discuss with fans, but I exaggerated.I regret to say that I named my former coach and my former team. That was childish and idiotic,”Durant said at USA Today.
The current NBA champion had often reacted rather thinly in the social networks to criticism of his move to the Golden State super team, which he still had on the brink of defeat in the 2015/16 playoffs with OKC and Russell Westbrook.
Thunder-Cheftrainer Donovan has meanwhile sent an apology.”It started as a joke.I did this all summer long, but in the end it went too far.I haven’t slept in two days, haven’t eaten anything. It’s crazy,”Durant added.
Among other things, he had also rained on Instagram with an unofficial account against fans.Recently, his criticism of team mate Steph Curry’s supplier had caused a stir.
His ex-colleagues don’t seem to find the whole affair funny either.Enes Kanter also spoke on Twitter:”I don’t care what others say.OKC is the best and most professional organization in the NBA.”
He also referred directly to Durant’s wording, which was written by the team as “those cats”.The Warriors’ first appearance in Oklahoma City on 22.November should be interesting.
