Mourinho worried: Lukaku fails
For the time being, Jose Mourinho will have to give up star striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian, however, is not the only failure in the Red Devils’ attack department.
The head injury of Romelu Lukaku causes worry lines at Manchester United.
“I don’t know,”said coach Jose Mourinho when asked how the striker is doing,”I know that normally bad news usually reaches you immediately, but the bad news didn’t come.”
Lukaku had collided against Southampton (0-0) with opponent Wesley Hoedt and had been treated for eight minutes on the pitch. The Belgian was carried off the court on a stretcher and was given oxygen.
“It’s a problem – not only today, but also for the next two games, I think,”said Mourinho.
Lukaku will probably miss the matches against ex-club Everton and the third round match in the FA-Cup against Derby County. Mourinho was confident that the 24-year-old will be back against Stoke City in two weeks’ time.
Team mate Paul Pogba wished Lukaku good recovery via Instagram:”Get well soon, brother,”the Frenchman wrote.
For ManUnited, the emergency situation in the storm continues to escalate:”Zlatan Ibrahimovic will also be absent for a month due to a knee injury. He is 36 years old and has a bad knee,”Mourinho explained.
