Munich wins BBL crash thanks to mega comeback
Bavaria sleeps asleep for the start of the prestige duel against Bamberg, but then returns impressively.
FC Bayern Munich won the prestige duel in the German Basketball Bundesliga against Brose Bamberg with 71:63 (29:35) despite a horror start.
At the beginning, the leader of the standings was overrun by the series champion. Bamberg, who has to fear for the playoffs entry after a disastrous season so far, started with a 10:0 run, was after not even four minutes even with 14:1 in front and finally won the first quarter with 25:11.
After Bamberg’s lightning start, however, the Munich team fought their way back into the game and took the lead for the first time at the end of the third quarter with Reggie Redding.
The final phase then became a hard-fought exchange of blows in which the leader of the standings had a lot of staying power.
