The defeat of Real Madrid in the Champions League is no reason for PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi to change course.
Despite record spending, the Champions League dream of Paris St. Germain burst again.
In the second leg, the French champions were largely uninspired against Real Madrid. At no time did the Parisians seem to be able to catch up after a 3-1 defeat in the first leg.
For PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the early outbreak is nevertheless no reason for a change of course in transfer policy:”We will not make any changes, we will continue with the project,”the Qatar announced after the defeat.
However, he left the future of coach Unai Emery open:”We need to calm down and see what we can change.
We are happy with our investments,”he says,” but we are happy with our investments. We believe in our players.”
Al-Khelaifi even promised further record transfers.
In the summer Superstar Neymar transferred from FC Barcelona to the French for 222 million euros. The Brazilian was missing from the second leg of the Champions League match against Real due to injury.
Shooting star Kylian Mbappe, who joined the Paris star squad for a total package of 180 million euros, remained goalless in both games against Madrid.
