Mavericks celebrate thanks to sniper Nowitzki
Dirk Nowitzki runs hot from a distance when Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets. A teammate hits even safer.
The Dallas Mavericks can still do it: After three defeats in a row, the Texans lost to the Denver Nuggets for the 20th time. Season’s victory celebrated.
Dirk Nowitzki and Yogi Ferrell mutated into true snipers. The German scored five of his seven three-point throws, Point Guard Ferrell, who was Mavericks’ top scorer with 24 points, scored even one more. Both met their first two attempts from a distance.
Overall, the 2011 NBA champion delivered a rarely strong team performance, with six players scoring double-digit points. Nowitzki scored 17 points in just 22 minutes, Rookie-Point-Guard Dennis Smith Jr. collected 18 points and raised his career best score on assists to eleven.

Center Nerlens Noel also made a successful comeback after a torn ligament in his right thumb and 42 games of break and grabbed 14 rebounds on his return.
While the success for Dallas is rather a nice snapshot in the ladle, the defeat hurts the nuggets, where shooting star Nikola Jokic disappointed with four points, fiercely in the race for the playoffs at the Western Conference.
Denver’s lead over the Los Angeles Clippers to ninth place is now only one victory. The Mavericks caught up with the Sacramento Kings in 13th place.
