After criticism: Mourinho mocks de Boer
Anyone who criticises Jose Mourinho risks a public scolding of the proud Portuguese. Now it’s time for a Dutch colleague of the starter trainer.
Star trainer Jose Mourinho from the English record holder Manchester United has once again handed out – this time his trainer colleague Frank de Boer was the victim. After United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool FC on Saturday at BT Sport, the Dutchman had criticised that double goalscorer Marcus Rashford from Mourinho had not been given enough time to play.
The Portuguese responded to the “majesty insult” with a biting mockery:”I read a quote from the worst coach in Premier League history, Frank de Boer. Seven games, seven defeats, zero goals,”said Mourinho at the press conference before the second leg of the Champions League’s second round match against Seville on Tuesday.
“He says it’s not good for Marcus Rashford to have a coach like me because it’s all about winning. If he were trained by Frank, he’d learn to lose because he lost every game.”
De Boer was dismissed last September after five games as team manager of the first division club Crystal Palace. In the four league games under his leadership the team remained without point and goal.
Mourinho had replaced 20-year-old attacker Rashford 20 minutes before the end to secure the lead,”It’s a pity that Mourinho is his coach, because an English player should usually be given time to make mistakes. But Mourinho is not like that. He only thinks of results,”de Boer complained.
