Falken again with two GT3 cars
In 2018 Falken will also be using a Porsche 911 GT3 R and a BMW M6 GT3 in the 24-hour race as well as in the VLN.
Tyre manufacturer Falken starts 2018 in the 20. motorsport season on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and will once again fight for overall victories with two of its own vehicles. The VLN long-distance championship and the 24-hour race are on the agenda with a slightly changed driver line-up:”2017 was the most successful motorsport season for Falken,”says Markus Bögner, operations manager at Falken Europa.
“The victory in the fourth VLN race and further podium places are the result of a strong team effort and consistent development of our engineers. We are one hundred percent competitive with both the BMW and the Porsche and will therefore be using both vehicles again this season,”continued Bögner.
The Porsche 911 GT3, which has been in use in various variants since 2011, is regarded as a fixed bench. At the wheel, Falken works drivers Martin Ragginger and Klaus Bachler take turns with Porsche works drivers Dirk Werner and Sven Müller. Newcomer Müller has been practicing motorsport since 2004 and is champion of the Porsche Supercup and the German Porsche Carrera Cup 2016.
As in the previous year, the BMW M6 GT3 will be driven by Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori, supported by Stef Dusseldorp and Jens Klingmann. Klingmann has a lot of experience and has already driven for BMW in the IMSA Championship and the GT-Masters.
