Rummenigge:”Roll backwards at Heynckes”
Munich – Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge evaluates the recent statements of Jupp Heynckes before leaving for the Champions League second leg at Besiktas Istanbul.
At FC Bayern Bayern, the hope of continuing the cooperation with successful coach Jupp Heynckes beyond the summer is alive and kicking – at least the record champion wants to continue to make this appearance in public.
“Jupp Heynckes did a backwards roll last week,”explained board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge before the Munich team took off for the second round of the Champions League at Besiktas Istanbul (all information on Wednesday from 8.45 pm in the LIVETICKER and from 9.45 pm in the Fantalk on TV on SPORT1).
“Now we’re waiting in peace. We don’t have any stress at all. We are happy with the way we’re standing right now in the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Cup:” Now we’re entering the decisive phase, the last quarter of the season.
“We’ll try to take what we can with Jupp Heynckes and then we’ll be able to see.”
Von Heynckes’ statement on Friday, he never said he wanted to end his career as a coach in the summer,”I’m not surprised,”Rummenigge said.
However, Rummenigge and President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge want to shut down the public charm offensive, which is supposed to make the coach stay. It is well known that the relationship of the two to Heynckes is “very, very good”.
“We don’t want to talk about Jupp Heynckes anymore. That annoys him”, Rummenigge said,”He has also conveyed the impression a few times that he didn’t like it when Uli or I also said something in public. Let’s not say anything.”
