Hughes to save Southampton
Mark Hughes is the new team manager of FC Southampton. For the former FC Bayern player, it is his sixth station in the Premier League.
Southampton, England’s first division club, has appointed Mark Hughes of Wales as the new team manager.
The 54-year-old will succeed Mauricio Pellegrino, who was dismissed on Monday. Hughes, who had stormed Bayern Munich in the 1987/88 season, will receive a contract until the end of the season.
From his previous positions at Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham FC, Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City, Hughes brings the experience of over 450 games to the bench in England’s elite class. Hughes was also coach of the Welsh national team from 1999 to 2004.
Southampton is now 17th on eight rounds of the season. only one point before the first descent place.
