As twelfth of the Eastern Conference, Chicago has no chance of reaching the playoffs. Zipser is as much out of the championship as the other four German legionnaires. Dirk Nowitzki and Maximilian Kleber had failed with the Dallas Mavericks just as prematurely as Dennis Schröder with the Atlanta Hawks.
Daniel Theis has qualified with record champion Boston Celtics as the current second in the East for the championship round. However, the 25-year-old is absent after a torn meniscus in his left knee, which has since undergone surgery.
In addition to Boston, Toronto Raptors are already number one in the East and division winners Houston Rockets and defending champions Golden State Warriors in the West as playoffs.
