Former world number 10 Angelique Kerber has reached the third round of the WTA tournament in Miami on the double.
In her opening game, the 30-year-old beat Johanna Larsson from Sweden 6-2, 6-2 after only 1:05 hours. In the first round Kerber had had a walk-through (DATENCENTER: Results from Miami).
The two-time Grand Slam winner Kerber, who clearly failed last in the quarter-finals of Indian Wells against the Russian Darja Kassatkina, has to deal with Alexandra Sasnovich (Belarus) or Anastasia Pavlyutschenkova (Russia/No. 23).
In the evening, Julia Görges (No. 12) and Carina Witthöft have a German duel.
