Manchester clubs hot on Boateng
Jerome Boateng is courted by the two top Manchester clubs. However, the defender is unlikely to say goodbye to FC Bayern in the summer.
Jerome Boateng is apparently once again in demand in the Premier League.
The English newspaper Sun reports that Manchester City and Manchester United are vying for the defender of FC Bayern. As a result, Boateng will be available for around 60 million euros this summer.
Both clubs want to venture an advance and start talks with the player in the coming weeks.
For Boateng, moving to Manchester would be a return to his former place of work. The world champion had already played at City from 2010 to 2011.
Pep Guardiola is considered a big fan of the 29-year-old. United coach Jose Mourinho is also said to have targeted Boateng to give his weakening defence stability.
However, a change is unlikely, as Boateng – unlike a year ago – feels very comfortable in Munich and does not think of any new challenges. Besides, his contract runs until 2021.
The Bavarians do not see themselves as a sales club and do not want to sell any top performers. The same applies to goal scorer Robert Lewandowski.
