Netflix produces Formula 1 documentary
The digitization of Formula 1 continues. Now it is announced that Netflix will produce a Formula 1 documentary during the 2018 season.
The new Formula 1 leadership continues to drive forward the digitization of the top motorsport class.
Formula 1 management, led by Liberty Media, announced on Saturday that a documentary will be produced in cooperation with Netflix during the 2018 season, which will be shown in ten parts next year on the popular streaming service.
“Formula One is a worldwide popular sport that we want to transform from a motorsport company into a media and entertainment brand,” said Formula One marketing director Sean Bratches: “The agreement with Netflix is intended to record the fascinating story of everything that happens behind the scenes during a Grand Prix season.
Formula 1 promises enigmatic insights that have never existed before for the spectator in this form. Oscar-winner James Gay Rees (“Senna”) is involved in the production.
