Super bowl scandal!
Michael Bennett injured a paraplegic woman at the Super Bowl 2017 to get onto the field. Now the police are looking for him on a warrant.
US professional footballer Michael Bennett, who switched to NFL champion Philadelphia Eagles during the off-season, is wanted on arrest warrants.
After the Super Bowl 2017 in Houston/Texas, then still in the service of the Seattle Seahawks, with which he also won the Super Bowl in 2014, the 32-year-old is said to have illegally gained access to the playing field and thereby pushed a paraplegic member of the security service to his side.
Bennett was a spectator at the Super Bowl LI last year and after the final he wanted to celebrate with his brother Martellus, who had triumphed over the Atlanta Falcons with the New England Patriots. But security stopped him.
“You must all know who I am. I’m going down to the field whether you like it or not,” said Bennett, according to Art Acevedo, chief of police in Houston. After that the professional is said to have pushed the 66-year-old woman, she suffered a shoulder injury.
Bennett, who was last handed over by the Seattle Seahawks to Master Philadelphia, wants to surrender, according to his lawyer.
