Olympic hero Ehrhoff announces his resignation
After the quarter finals of the Cologne Sharks, Captain Christian Ehrhoff ends his ice hockey career. The 35-year-old was one of the heroes of the Olympic Games.
Olympic hero Christian Ehrhoff has ended his ice hockey career. This was announced by the Cologne sharks on Sunday evening.
The captain of the Sharks had previously failed with Cologne in the quarter-finals of the DEL playoffs against the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers.
“I informed the team, the shark organization and Marco Sturm about this step,” said Ehrhoff, who won silver with the German national ice hockey team at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
“I have enjoyed a long and successful career. I am very grateful for that,” the 35-year-old continues.
Before the start of the Winter Olympics, Ehrhoff had declared that he wanted to continue. But a few weeks later Ehrhoff has changed his mind.
