ADAC Formula 4 starts within Formula 1
The ADAC Formula 4 will compete in the German Grand Prix. The stars of the future meet Sebastian Vettel and Co.
The young talents of the ADAC Formula 4 meet their great idols from Formula 1: In the context of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Germany from 20. till 22. The ADAC Formula 4 starts for the first time in the supporting programme of the top class of motorsport at the Hockenheimring.
The high-speed school of the ADAC holds two races in Hockenheim. Tickets for the comeback of Formula 1 Germany after a one-year break are available online at hockenheimring.de. The ADAC Formula 4 starts from 13. till 15. April in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben into the 2018 season.
“The races of the ADAC Formula 4 in the context of Formula 1 are a highlight in this year’s calendar and I am pleased that we can give our young talents this chance. A Formula 1 Grand Prix in Germany is important for the youngsters and a race as part of their great idols is a great motivation,” says ADAC sports president Hermann Tomczyk.
At Hockenheim the ADAC Formula 4 drivers will meet Sebastian Vettel, who has been patron of the ADAC Formula 4 since 2015 and still knows the feeling of competing in an ADAC junior series as part of Formula 1.
In 2004 Vettel won the ADAC Formula BMW, a predecessor series of today’s ADAC Formula 4. The second German Formula 1 driver, Renault driver Nico Hülkenberg, also comes from the ADAC’s successful promotion of young talent in formula racing and won the Formula BMW ADAC in 2005. On their way into the formula Force India driver Sergio Perez and Haas driver Kevin Magnussen also started in the ADAC’s junior formula series.
The two races of the ADAC Formula 4 as part of Formula 1 at the Hockenheimring will replace the races originally planned at the Sachsenring in September.
