Younes stays with Ajax until end of season
Ajax Amsterdam banish Amin Younes to the second team until the end of the season. The suspension follows a conversation between Coach Ten Hag and Younes.
National player Amin Younes can no longer hope to take part in the World Cup. The Dutch record champion Ajax Amsterdam announced on Monday that the offensive player was eliminated until the end of the season and may only train with the second team of the club. Confed Cup winner Younes can no longer recommend himself for a place in the World Cup squad of national coach Joachim Löw.
“All we need is players who focus 100% on Ajax. Amin Younes doesn’t give us that feeling,” said Ajax coach Erik ten Hag.
Younes had recently refused to substitute for SC Heerenveen (4-1) shortly before the end, because he considered them “unnecessary”. The 24-year-old had already been banished to the reserve team.
Where Younes will move after his contract ends in June remains open. The SSC Naples continues to be considered as a candidate. Finally, however, some Bundesliga teams are said to have expressed their interest.
