Zverev after false start in round of 16
Alexander Zverev wins against David Ferrer and reaches the round of 16 in Miami. In the next round, an Australian “bad boy” is waiting for him.
After another three-set victory Alexander Zverev entered the round of 16 at the ATP Masters in Miami.
The fifth in the world rankings beat Spanish player David Ferrer 2:6, 6:2, 6:4 and will now face Nick Kyrgios (Australia/No. 17) in the round of the last 16.
The result is a new edition of last year’s quarter-final duel in Florida.
Last year, the Hamburg-born Zverev failed in the round of the last eight due to Kyrgios.
Zverev, who had a walk-through as number four on the seed list in the first round, had already lost a set in his first match against the Russian Daniil Medvedev.
Zverev is the last German player at the hard court tournament in Florida, which is endowed with almost eight million dollars.
