Sané responds to Walker’s posting
Especially in the social media, fans were waiting for some reaction from Leroy Sané, who learned on Monday that he had not been considered for the World Cup finals in Russia. The international kept a low profile for a long time, but then reacted to an instagram post from club colleague Kyle Walker.
Leroy Sané is not going to Russia with the reigning world champion. A decision that was quite surprising. National coach Joachim Löw justified the choice for Julian Brandt with the fact that an offensive force with strong dribbles could not ride along “because the squad must be balanced. We couldn’t take someone else in the defender position to have one more player on the offensive.”
Sané was undoubtedly very disappointed, he was very popular in the social media – many would have given him a World Cup ticket in any case. However, the best young professional of the 2017/18 Premier League season (32 appearances, 10 goals, 15 assists) did not react for the time being. But then Sané reacted: to an instagram post from his club colleague Kyle Walker.
“You’re lucky you don’t have to play me”
The English defender, who will run up for the Three Lions in Russia, shared a picture on which he spit out a large amount of water and wrote under it: “If you find out Leroy Sané isn’t going to the World Cup.” It took four hours before his Manchester City team-mate responded. “Well, you’re lucky you don’t have to play me, bro.”
