New Premier League schedule: Arsenal-ManCity
A few hours before the start of the World Cup, the Premier League announced the schedule for the new season. The new Arsenal coach Unai Emery was given difficult tasks to make his debut in the league. Liverpool and Manchester United get to go home first, Huddersfield expects Chelsea.
A soft start to the Premier League looks different: Arsenal’s new coach Unai Emery must prepare his team for a opening duel with champions Manchester City. On the second day of play, the Gunners will have to go to Chelsea FC, the 2017 champions.
Jürgen Klopp and FC Liverpool start the new season with a home game against West Ham United. The first away game is a week at Crystal Palace.
Vice-champion Manchester United will also start the season on home soil against Leicester City.
Relocation delayed: Tottenham initially still at Wembley
Tottenham Hotspur will start in Newcastle as last year. Although the new Spurs Stadium is almost finished, it is not quite ready for the Premier League start. The Spurs will play their first home game against Liverpool FC in mid-September on their new home ground on Matchday 5. The city duel against rising star Fulham takes place on the 2nd day of play still in Wembley. This is the first time a Premier League club has been allowed to play its home matches in two different stadiums in one season.
The newcomer starts the season at home in Craven Cottage against Crystal Palace, second league champion Wolverhampton welcomes Everton. Cardiff City is the only climber that has to make it out of Bournemouth.
For David Wagner, who recently extended his season at Hudderfield Town after a sensational win, the second year of the Premier League begins with a tricky home game against Chelsea FC.
The matches of the Premier League have not yet been scheduled on time. This will be done after consultation with the broadcasting pay-TV stations.
