Cavani threatens the bank against France
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani threatens the role of spectator in the quarter-finals against France on Friday. The 31-year-old, who scored two goals against Portugal in the round of 16, was missing from practice on Wednesday.
Should Cavani fail, Christian Stuani is likely to be the first option for the post next to Luis Suarez. According to the daily El Tiempo Cavani will be sitting on the bench at the meeting in Nizhny Novgorod (4 pm).
Cavani had bruised against Portugal and was replaced after 74 minutes. The edema should be exactly 48x29x17 millimeters in size, stowed in the calf. The diagnosis was made by Dr. Ponomareva (Azdor Clinic in Nizhny Novgorod). Surprisingly, the Uruguayan Football Association AUF published the diagnosis via Twitter.
Magnetic resonance imaging has shown that this is “small-area edema on the inner part of the twin muscle”. Otherwise everything was intact: Bones, vessels, tissue. However, the mini-blood effusion should hurt.
The French double winner Paris St. Germain’s striker was the match winner with his two goals against Portugal on Saturday, but had to leave the match in the 74th minute, limping and supported by Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
