Who broadcasts which Champions League matches live?
Where can you actually see the Dortmund guest performance at Tottenham Hotspur? And who will broadcast the other matches of the Champions League round of sixteen? An overview of how “Sky” and “DAZN” divided the games.
No more free TV matches, plus a distribution of live broadcasts on pay-TV channel “Sky” and streaming service “DAZN” – the current Champions League season had some changes in store for football fans regarding TV broadcasts. And challenges. For the ordinary viewer, it is sometimes difficult to see where which match will be seen.
This is how the transmissions in the round of sixteen are regulated
At the Champions League’s round of 16 matches, which are kicked off at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, “Sky” will broadcast four of the eight matches in Germany live and exclusively in full length, in addition to the conference, both in the first and second legs. The other four games will be shown by “DAZN”. In the first legs, “Sky” may select the best individual match, in the second legs the best four. This means: While “DAZN” has access to two pairings with German teams in the first leg, “Sky” can select the matches with Bavaria, Dortmund and Schalke in the second leg.
