Fernando Alonso anticipates a challenging race after struggling to match the pace in qualifying. The Aston Martin team is determined to regain their competitive edge in Formula 1 and will not rest until they are back at the forefront. The Austrian Grand Prix weekend proved to be another difficult one for Aston Martin, with Alonso qualifying as the slowest driver in the second session and his teammate Lance Stroll being eliminated in the first session. However, Alonso, who emphasized the need for less talk from the team, remains resolute in their pursuit to recapture their previous form. Despite lagging behind Stroll during the Sprint sessions, Alonso attributed the improvement on his side of the garage to extensive changes made to his AMR24 car before qualifying. The modifications were so extensive that the mechanics had no time for lunch as they worked to finalize the tweaks. Alonso expressed that the team is still in a similar position and lacking the necessary pace, but they will continue to push forward until they are competing at the front. Until that moment arrives, Alonso acknowledges that they will endure challenging times on the track and will support the team wholeheartedly. Aston Martin is eagerly awaiting their next upgrade package, which is expected to arrive at the Hungarian Grand Prix next month. Alonso believes this upgrade will provide a significant improvement. However, looking ahead to the upcoming race in Austria, Alonso acknowledges the difficulty of making progress from 15th place on the grid and reaching the points positions. He believes they may need assistance from other competitors in front of them. Alonso remains focused on finishing the race and hopes to secure a few points for the team.
