Race officials at the Canadian Grand Prix called in representatives from Octane Racing Group after a violation occurred.
“The event organizer openly admitted that the safety precautions in place were not successful in preventing spectators from accessing the track,” officials stated.
“They agreed with the report from the FIA delegate and the race director, stating that this situation was unacceptable.
“In an effort to mitigate the issue, the organizer pledged to conduct a thorough investigation and implement necessary measures before the next event in Canada.”
Officials determined that the organizer had violated the FIA’s international sporting code and demanded the submission of a formal plan to rectify the situation to the governing body in Paris by the end of September.
They also emphasized that a significant financial penalty would be imposed if a similar incident were to occur again. (Reported by Alan Baldwin)
