Norwegian Mia Rusthen is currently in the hospital after a crash during the first race of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing world championship. The incident occurred at the final corner of the Misano circuit, leading to the suspension of the race. Rusthen was attended to at the site of the crash and was then transported to the Bufalini Trauma Centre in Cesena. She has been diagnosed with a concussion and is now in stable condition.
After the race was restarted, another incident occurred involving South African rider Jessica Howden. Howden was conscious but was also taken to the Bufalini Trauma Centre with a concussion. A third start took place, and although there was another accident involving a rider hitting the wall, the rider, Lena Kemmer, was able to walk away from the crash site.
In the end, the race concluded with Maria Herrera, a MotoE regular, winning by a narrow margin of 0.067s against Ana Carrasco, a Moto3 veteran and the 2018 Supersport 300 world champion.
