JGR veteran Martin Truex Jr. has no plans to completely stop racing. In a special announcement, Joe Gibbs Racing has confirmed that Truex Jr. will take over the No:19 Toyota Camry starting in the 2024 season. This marks the end of a remarkable career that deserves recognition in the Hall of Fame. The decision to retire was motivated by Truex Jr.’s desire to slow down and enjoy life more. However, he will still be involved in racing and NASCAR in a limited capacity. JGR boss Joe Gibbs revealed that Truex Jr. will serve as an ambassador for the team. Despite rumors of a potential NASCAR return, Truex Jr.’s teammate Denny Hamlin has stated that this is unlikely as the veteran has other goals to pursue in his life. While it is expected that Truex Jr. will make only a few NASCAR appearances after retirement, his passion for the sport will keep him engaged as a fan and supporter starting from the 2025 season.
