Ryan Blaney highlights the enthusiasm of NASCAR fans in the mid-west. The NASCAR Cup garage is currently located at the Iowa Speedway, a track that was built in 2006 and spans 0.8 miles. The fans have long desired for NASCAR to hold a race at this track, and were heartbroken when the Xfinity and Truck dates were lost. However, they are now ecstatic to see racing return to the track.
When discussing the passion of these fans, the reigning Cup series champion emphasized that the corn-country has the most dedicated fan base in motorsports. He acknowledged their disappointment when the lower tier series stopped racing at the track, and expressed his delight in seeing the comeback.
Ryan Blaney expressed his excitement to race at Iowa, stating, “The fan base here is very loyal to motorsports.” He also mentioned that approximately 80 friends and family members will be attending the race to support him.
He further elaborated on the love for NASCAR and motorsports in general in the mid-west. The driver of the Team Penske No:12 Ford Mustang firmly believes that Iowa deserves a Cup race date.
This race weekend holds special significance for Ryan Blaney, as around 80 members from his family and friends’ group will be present to show their support. He hopes to utilize this overwhelming support to secure his first win of the season.
This is not the first time that Blaney has received such exceptional support. Approximately 10 years ago, when he was racing in the Xfinity Series, a similar large group of fans came to demonstrate their love and support for the racer. This may provide him with an additional boost of confidence as he strives for victory on Sunday.
