In the tabloid-style format, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso set the fastest time in the second practice session before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The two-time World Champion topped the timesheets with a remarkable effort of 1:28.827s, surpassing George Russell’s later lap by 0.230 seconds.
Max Verstappen, who had initially led the opening practice hour at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, slipped back to third place, trailing Russell by a tenth of a second. Charles Leclerc placed himself between the two Red Bull cars in the leading Ferrari, while Lance Stroll finished sixth in the second Aston Martin, but was five-tenths of a second behind his teammate.
Carlos Sainz, who was feeling unwell, secured seventh place, followed by Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in eighth and Pierre Gasly in a surprising ninth for Alpine. Oscar Piastri completed the top 10 for McLaren.
