Ferrari has unveiled the design for their #83 AF Corse 499P Hypercar that will participate in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. The car features a prominent yellow color that complements the secondary red shade. This will be the third privateer-entered Hypercar from AF Corse representing the Maralleno brand. The main factory Hypercars will maintain a similar appearance to their debut season in 2023, with slight tweaks. The #83 car has an inverted look to distinguish it from the two factory cars, which bear the numbers #50 and #51 on the front. The #83 crew has been confirmed and includes Scuderia Ferrari F1 reserve driver Robert Schwartzman, official driver Yifei Ye, and 2023 WEC LMP2 champion Robert Kubica. In the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams championship, the #83 499P will compete against three Porsche 963s: the #99 Proton Competition, and the #12 and #38 JOTA Hypercars. The 2024 season will feature a total of 19 Hypercars in the category, as indicated by the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans entry list, which listed 23 Hypercars. The first race for Ferrari’s third 499P will be at the 1812 km Qatar on 2 March, following the official Prologue two-day pre-season test on 24-25 February.
