In 2024, the Florida and Arizona Complex Leagues will commence and conclude their seasons a month earlier than in the past.
In the previous year, the two complex leagues started on June 5 and ended on Aug. 22. However, this year, they will kick off on May 4 and wrap up on July 25. Consequently, the regular season will be finalized just a few days after the conclusion of the 2024 MLB draft.
All 30 MLB teams engaged in discussions with MLB throughout the previous season regarding modifications to the complex leagues. After considering various proposals for different adjustments, the Farm Directors voted in favor of advancing the season. Ultimately, this decision transforms the leagues from being predominantly comprised of newly drafted players to ones that will primarily consist of athletes transitioning from the Dominican Summer League.
