BMW M Motorsport Global Ambassador Samantha Tan is set to make her debut in the GT America series this weekend at Long Beach. Tan, who co-owns a racing team with her father, will be driving the #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4. This will be her first time racing a GT4 car since 2021.
Samantha Tan Racing, established in 2017, has achieved great success in various racing championships. They have won back-to-back Team Championships in the Pirelli World Challenge and the Pirelli GT4 America series. Tan has also had success in the 2021 24H Series overall championship and made a successful transition to GT3 racing in 2022.
In 2022, Samantha Tan Racing secured the overall victory for BMW’s new M4 GT3 at the 12 Hours of Mugello. They also won the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup season finale in Barcelona, earning their maiden victory for the Ferrari 296 GT3.
For the 2024 season, Tan will continue her role as a BMW M Motorsport ambassador. She will be returning to GT4 racing after a successful stint in GT3 racing, where she achieved five consecutive podiums in last year’s Pro-AM series with co-driver Neil Verhagen.
At the season-opener of the 2024 GT World Challenge America, Samantha Tan Racing secured four class podiums with their two cars at the Sonoma Raceway. The GT America series, where Tan will be making her debut, will take place on April 19-21 and will support the third round of the NTT IndyCar series.
