#25: BMW M Team RLL, BMW M Hybrid V8, GTP: Connor De Phillippi, Nick Yelloly, Maxime Martin
Maxime Martin of BMW is currently in the lead at Sebring with only 4 hours remaining, as the race approaches its final stages.
Martin, driving the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8, took over the lead during the pitstop rotation following a major crash involving Pipo Derani approximately 30 minutes before the four-hour mark. Derani, who was driving the #31 Action Express Cadillac V-Series.R, had been leading for a significant portion of the race alongside his teammates Jack Aitken and Tom Blomqvist. However, Derani’s crash, which resulted in the flipping of the Cadillac after colliding with the #21 Ferrari driven by Miguel Molina, has completely changed the dynamics of the race.
Currently, the race is under a yellow flag once again, specifically the eighth Full Course Yellow (FCY), due to debris from a Ford Mustang that went off-track and lost some of its diffuser bodywork.
In second place is Mathieu Jaminet driving the #6 Porsche 963, followed by Ricky Taylor in the #10 WTR Andretti Acura ARX-06 in third. During the restart after Derani’s crash, Jesse Krohn in the sister #24 BMW initially held the second position, but by the end of the lap, he had dropped to fifth.
In the LMP2 category, Tom Dillmann is leading in the #52 Inter Europol Oreca 07-Gibson. Mikkel Jensen is in second place driving the #11 TDS Racing Oreca 07-Gibson, while Bijoy Garg holds the third position in the #22 United Autosports Oreca 07-Gibson.
Michael Christensen is currently leading the GTD Pro class in the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R. Second place in this class is occupied by Madison Snow driving the #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, followed by Alexander Sims in third place with the #3 Corvette C8.R.
Lastly, Frederik Schandorff is leading the GTD class aboard the #70 Inception McLaren 720S GT3. Zach Robichon is in second place driving the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, while Onforio Triarsi holds the third position with the #023 Triarsi Ferrari 296 GT3.
